About Clinton, SC - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Belonging to the state of South Carolina, the city of Clinton lies in the Laurens County. The city has a population of 8,490 people and covers a total area of 9.1 square miles. The history of the town begins from its settling by Scot-Irish people, two decades before the American Revolutionary War, for which the area served as a battleground.
The town was previously named Five Points until 1852 because of four road intersections and the railroad that crossed the area. Later on, Henry Clinton Young had come to the area and planned it first roads which led to the changing of the town’s name to Clinton.
A favorite of the town includes the Musgrove Mill State Historic Site which aims to preserve important aspects of the American history. It mainly features displays and artifacts related to the American Revolutionary War. Other than the historic site, the area is also well-known for its beautiful and well-maintained hiking trails. The outdoor area is perfect for long and pleasant walks to relax and distress. Also, it also makes for a great picnic spot for families because you can enjoy a lovely home-made meal with a breathtaking view of the lake.
A trip to the Clinton Museum is not one you’ll regret. Located in the Historic Griffin House on Broad Street, the museum aims to conserve important parts of the region’s culture. Regular visitors appreciate the community’s effort to help preserve the historical relics that will tell the city’s story to future generations.
The climate in Clinton is typically warm during midday and the 46 inches of rain every year makes sure that there are plenty of rainy days to pull out your rain boots. Being the hottest month, July features high temperatures of around 91oF while January cools down to 30.7oF.
